Tonya serves as the Procurement and Membership Assistant for the National Latina Business Women Association – Inland Empire (NLBWA-IE), where she plays a dual role in expanding opportunity for the organization’s members and the broader small business community. She works directly to connect small businesses across the Inland Empire with State, Federal, and Corporate buyers — helping Latina entrepreneurs access the procurement opportunities and visibility they need to grow and scale.
In addition to her procurement work, Tonya manages membership for NLBWA-IE, serving as a key point of connection between the organization and the community it represents.
Tonya holds a Master’s degree from San Diego State University with a background in policy and community analysis. Her academic foundation is deeply rooted in civic engagement, and her professional interests span civil rights policy, education, grassroots movements, and small business development — a combination that reflects both her analytical mindset and her commitment to community-driven change.
A dedicated writer and scholar, Tonya brings a passion for Chicana/o literature and storytelling to her work, recognizing the power of narrative in shaping culture and advancing equity. She is a natural fit for an organization whose mission is to empower Latina women to lead, build, and thrive.
